X-Men #2 Encounter at Cape Citadel

On the step, in front of the door to Xavier's School for Gifted Youngsters, a book lays open, slightly battered and face up. Its dark brown leather cover scraped and the gold school insignia scarred from the concrete below it, this is the journal of Charles Xavier and someone will be missing it very shortly. Of course, it is open. What harm could come from a tiny peek? What does the professor write in his very private journal? September 24, 1963 I know they wanted more training. To see Cyclops desire more, wanting to grow, not be afraid of his own abilities... I couldn't be a happier teacher. But of course, the threat of the Mutant Menace was upon us and my students needed to jump to action. Hearing their accounts of what transpired, it helps me to know where their strengths are and where their weaknesses are. Each of them are invaluable, each of them need work. X-Men #1 The Danger Room

                Professor Charles Xavier leads his four new students down the corridors of the mansion.  He shows them their dorms and the cafeteria.  He takes them through the reading room and the library.  And then they come to a long quiet hallway.  Xavier pauses, looking right at the door at the end, but before he allows the tour to continue he says, "There are things in this mansion that you cannot understand; places within its walls that are dangerous to even you.  That room must remain off limits at all times."  He takes a deep breath and continues to lead his group.  They stop halfway down the hall and he opens a door.     "Welcome to the Danger Room."      As they step into a control room, crowded with computers, Xavier begins to explain the uncanny wonders of this amazing automated gymnasium.     "Here, you will train your mind... your body... and your mutant abil...
