Silk Spider #7: The Menace of Mysterio

From the Desk of J. Jonah Jameson

Headline: Spider-Man Back From the Dead?!

Body: True believers, you can take it from this veteran newsman that nothing is ever as it seems! Let’s take the Amazing Spider-Man and the Spectacular Silk Spider. For instance, Spider-Man and Silk Spider have supposedly been seen in New York City, robbing jewelry stores and banks. But haven’t we been witness to old Web Head’s aunt, addressing the public with the identity and the death of her nephew? There is only one answer to this enigma, readers! Spider-Man is back from the dead!

As for the Silk Spider… she was never to be trusted!

As someone who knew Spider-Man personally, I can tell you that I saw his rotten amoral core from day one!

But back to the point, dear readers. An actual superhero, a brilliantly garbed character named Mysterio, came into these news offices. He declared that he would take down the Silk Spider and Spider-Man and become the true protector of New York City.

Assistant Editor’s Note: Jonah, there is no way we’re going to print this. Spider-Man did not come back from the dead. Silk Spider and Spider-Man were not robbing banks! That creep Mysterio was using robots posing as heroes to defeat and boost his popularity.

The real Silk Spider and her friend, Nightcrawler, battled Mysterio, a Silk Spider robot and the Spider-Man robot, on top of the Brooklyn Bridge. By the end, Mysterio was webbed up and left for the police, who ultimately discovered that some megalomaniac is holding auditions for a supervillain group, and that’s why Mysterio was there in the first place.

So forget it JJJ! I have a moral compass that is a lot stronger than the paycheck you give me.

The Spider-friends are indeed heroes, and maybe that’s what the city needs to see in print.

X-Men #6 Nothing Can Stop the Juggernaut... (almost nothing)

I don’t care. This is dumb anyway. Charlie’s band of happy mutant minions made a mess of things and I’m a prisoner in his mansion, again! He gave me this paper to write on and he gave me this piece of charcoal to write with. It ain’t no pencil though. He knows better than to give me anything sharp. Why am I writing this? Nobody’s going to read it. He seems to think that locking me up in a room without sedating me and without chaining me up is something he should be rewarded for. I’m still in a locked room. I’m still a prisoner to that stuck up no good step-brother of mine. OK, so I’m writing for me. Writing my own rehabilitation. He was holding me captive. In this house. Knocked out cold, chained to a slab, and any time I woke up… another dose of that elephant tranquilizer. But I broke out, didn’t I? I got out. That’s when I met Brock Rumlow, aka Crossbones. He turned me on to the Factor Three. We met with them. Three guys, always in hoods, always in the shadows. And ...

X-Men #26: There's Something in the Danger Room pt1 & pt2 (COMING SOON)

I am Magneto.  I - AM - MAGNETO. The X-Men needed a new direction.  I am finding that this direction is still me.  The dream of harmony between man and mutant; it isn't possible.  I never really thought it was.  And now is my time to do what is necessary.  What is necessary, is that I push aside the thought that we will ever be in harmony with those who hate and fear us.  At the same time, the dreams of the old Magneto, the dream of taking over the world and enslaving humans so that homo superior could thrive, is over reactionary.  It is a surefire route to extinction.  The team is solid.  With Mystique as the Field Captain, I believe they will go far.  She's finally falling into her own now that Wolverine has gone. We have a serious mission.  We will be going into an unknown dimension to retrieve a baby taken by the Black Queen of the Hellfire Club.  We know nothing about the dimension, except that Selene, the Blac...
