X-Men #19: The Hunt for Magneto pt1: Alpha Flight at 30,000 Feet

Personal Log of Kallark

Praetor of the Shi’ar Royal Elite Imperial Guard:

It has been a century since the execution of Rook’shir. Since his embrace of fire and his declaration of becoming life incarnate; of being transformed into an unstoppable force of destruction and death. He was possessed, and now his possessor, the Phal’kon… the Chaos-bringer, the World Destroyer has found a new home.

Our instruments have tracked it to a planet called Earth, by its inhabitants. The force itself, a fiery burst of energy, hit a small palace in the northern hemisphere. It exploded and destroyed a dungeon cell, freeing a prisoner and disrupting the palace’s primitive electrical systems. Of course we tracked the escapee, thinking that he might have been possessed by the Pal’kon. He wasn’t.

And so we waited and watched from our aerie just above Earth’s atmosphere. We waited and watched the inhabitants of this palace, a place called the Xavier School for Gifted Youngsters.

October 30, 1964:

Existing beside these beings called X-Men has given me a great deal of perspective. They do not like being captive. They do not like being discriminated against. They do not like being misled or deceived, and they do not like being physically damaged. Yet these ways are what brought me to this conscious state. Now I am one of them, an X-Man. They called me friend, then Jim, and now I am Cerebro, a valuable member of their team. I have seen them be courageous and brave. I have seen them be trusting and I have seen them remove those who could not be trusted, as I do with my own corrupted files during my upgrade protocols.

Recently, the one called Wolverine brought a human into the house. He’s a man called Archie Corrigan. Archie is a pilot and a known smuggler, but accepting outsiders and misunderstood criminals, is something the X-Men do. And, as it turned out, Mr. Corrigan became immediately useful.

The X-Men have discovered that mutant hunting robots called Sentinels, are being mass produced and that the government and an unknown mutant benefactor have something to do with it. They fought these robots but know that an army of them could be devastating, so they decided to locate the mutant terrorist, Magneto and ask for his help. They had some thoughts on where to begin this hunt for Magneto. They know that he’s alive and that his hidden base on Asteroid M went down in San Francisco Bay. While this would seem the best place to start, Scarlet Witch and Quicksilver had other information that gave them reason to believe that Magneto was at a hidden base on Wundagore Mountain, deep in Central Europe. That unknown source of information also told them that Magneto was their father. Scarlet Witch and Quicksilver were gone before the X-Men were aware of this, so obviously when they found out, they had to follow.

Now, I wait for them to return. Danger is here with our new friend, the reprogrammed Sentinel. In fact, Danger has just shared his upgrades with the both of us and others like us that are attached to the “Cloud”. I do not know what this cloud is but I can only surmise that it will be important in the near future.

Personal Log of Kallark

continued:

We’ve been watching the humans for some time now. The large one that escaped when the Phal’kon arrived, came back for a time, on his own accord. Others have also come and gone. The humans that inhabit what we understand to be a school and not a palace, are called X-Men. They are protectors of this planet, much like we are protectors of the Shi’ar Empire. We keep expecting to see the fiery aura of the Phal’kon in one of them, but it has yet to manifest. Oracle insists that one of them holds the power, so when they left in their winged craft, we followed.

They were attacked by another group of Earth’s Protectors, the Alpha Flight. The X-Men should have been overwhelmed, considering the power behind the Alpha Flight, but one of the X-Men passively convinced the Alphans to stop their attack and return home. The attacking group left through a portal as bolts of electricity hit the X-Men’s aircraft. Their controls went out and they crashed into the snowy Earth region called Latveria.

We continue to watch the X-Men. One of them must have the Phal’kon. Perhaps the one who fired the electricity bolts knows this too.

X-Men #6 Nothing Can Stop the Juggernaut... (almost nothing)

I don’t care. This is dumb anyway. Charlie’s band of happy mutant minions made a mess of things and I’m a prisoner in his mansion, again! He gave me this paper to write on and he gave me this piece of charcoal to write with. It ain’t no pencil though. He knows better than to give me anything sharp. Why am I writing this? Nobody’s going to read it. He seems to think that locking me up in a room without sedating me and without chaining me up is something he should be rewarded for. I’m still in a locked room. I’m still a prisoner to that stuck up no good step-brother of mine. OK, so I’m writing for me. Writing my own rehabilitation. He was holding me captive. In this house. Knocked out cold, chained to a slab, and any time I woke up… another dose of that elephant tranquilizer. But I broke out, didn’t I? I got out. That’s when I met Brock Rumlow, aka Crossbones. He turned me on to the Factor Three. We met with them. Three guys, always in hoods, always in the shadows. And ...

X-Men #26: There's Something in the Danger Room pt1 & pt2 (COMING SOON)

I am Magneto.  I - AM - MAGNETO. The X-Men needed a new direction.  I am finding that this direction is still me.  The dream of harmony between man and mutant; it isn't possible.  I never really thought it was.  And now is my time to do what is necessary.  What is necessary, is that I push aside the thought that we will ever be in harmony with those who hate and fear us.  At the same time, the dreams of the old Magneto, the dream of taking over the world and enslaving humans so that homo superior could thrive, is over reactionary.  It is a surefire route to extinction.  The team is solid.  With Mystique as the Field Captain, I believe they will go far.  She's finally falling into her own now that Wolverine has gone. We have a serious mission.  We will be going into an unknown dimension to retrieve a baby taken by the Black Queen of the Hellfire Club.  We know nothing about the dimension, except that Selene, the Blac...
